Action Station is a community dance art initiative by artist Samara Cunningham. I was invited to collaborate on this project as a film maker and projection artist. Through a series of movement workshops the participants from the community learn to perform in a choreographed routine. I then filmed some of the dancers out in the local landscape to show their response and connection to their environment and produced a film which became a cinematic back drop and lighting to the final show. This work was filmed on the Great Southern Rail Trail in Sth Gippsland. I wanted to show the detail of the wilderness along the trail and the beauty of this ever changing natural highway between our regional towns.
