Testing Grounds
In 2012 and 2013, I traveled across diverse parts of America with my partner and young son. We strayed from well-worn paths. Craving intimate views and conscious of the transitory nature of our trip, I recorded the places and moments by setting up a camera alone and filming what I saw. The simple action of pressing record and standing quietly by the camera became a reward in itself. This process of experiencing solace behind the lens proved addictive and significant moments emerged from each location.
